ELECTRIC PICNIC TAKES place this weekend in Stradbally, Co. Laois.
To coincide with the festival, some locals from nearby Mountmellick have decided to ‘yarn bomb’ their town to catch the eye of those travelling to the festival.
What’s yarn bombing, you ask? It’s a type of street art whereby streets are covered in knitted objects. Like so:

Over the weekend, Mountmellick’s yarn bombing committee struck again and attached crocheted objects to railings, trees, bike racks and more.
There were pom pom wreaths…
A beautiful tribute to Banksy.
No street corner went untouched.
Even the local tennis club got involved.
This is the third year in a row the town has been totally transformed.

And it’s safe to say it brightens the place up anyway.

Wonderful.
